Hi,
I am a very English person doing some part time assisting at an Afrikaans medium primary school with struggling Grade 1’s, and the teachers have asked me to help them with phonics!!! (i usually work on fine motor and visual perceptual skills!)
So I am looking for some afrikaans phonics worksheets – any ideas?
Thanks for a great site and some helpful links!
Hi, Tracey
You can use the ideas on this blog…type in words such as “abc”, “klanke”, “skryf”, “skrif” to get to articles on the sounds. Seeing that your kiddies are in Grade 1…Why don’t you try auditory worksheets such as the ones by JufSanne? Go to this or this page and select the tasks that would suit your group. The Dutch tasks tend to work well with Afrikaans children – as a lot of the sounds are the same. You could also try kleuters.co.za for some lovely ideas. 😉 (Have you looked in the “Drukbare” section?)
